Oversized Tennis Racquet Questions asked

Voting Question: I just bought an oversized tennis racquet for my son. It's a HEAD ti.2000 .... ?

I found a HEAD ti.2000 racquet on their european website but can't find it on their North America website, which is where I bought it. Canadian Tire, to be exact. However, the one on Head's european website doesn't seem to be oversized like this one & the colouring is a bit different. I'd just like to be able to find out info about this racquet I just bought! Any help is appreciated  more

Resolved Question: Tennis racquet for my style of play?

I have a Head oversized racquet I bought from someone recently because I am just starting out at tennis. I've been playing quite a bit and i think i want a racquet where i can swing harder. This racquet seems out of control. I want one where i can swing relatively hard and it wont fly out of the court. I dont know much about tennis but i would like some advice on what racquet would be good for me I live in a town of about 2500 people 120 miles from any kind of city and lessons arent an option. I have some friends who are pretty good and they are teaching me  more

Resolved Question: How is the tennis racquet Head Microgel Extreme, mid plus?

I have just bought the racquet and am getting it strung. Any details will be helpful (like is it head heavy, balanced, or head light). I would be grateful from any past or current experience with the racquet. If their is any other information that you have, please type it. I am transferring from a liquidmetal radical oversized to the microgel extreme and am looking for more of a control racquet since I can generate power myself. I am an intermediate player who plays for my high school tennis team (second best in the state). Thanks a lot.  more

Resolved Question: Where can I find a racquet?

I'd like a racquet that's 9/10 ounces and an oversized head that's at lease 100 square inches. And the beam width to be 25 mm, I want it to be black, white or blue. I can't find one anywhere, I'm a beginner, so. :O I only have $148 in my allowance, so I'd link one that's around 20-25 dollars, somewhere? Because if I spend a lot, my mom won't let me play tennis, so. >_< But if there's that type of racquet and it's more expensive, can you please tell me too? But this was what someone told me to get because I'm just starting, but if you have any... ideas for a beginner like me, can you please tell me? :D I don't like ordering online, so if you can, can you please like, give a store? I live in Texas, so nothing out of the state. ><  more

Resolved Question: I really want to switch racquets?

I really want to switch racquets? I am a 13 year old, and I play tennis tournaments and I'm on a tennis team. I use an O3 blue royal racquet, with O ports. I've done okay with it, but it's oversized, and I needed a racquet with more control than power. So, I demoed the O3 Speedport White racquet with rectangle ports. I played two matches with it and I was on fire! Winner after winner, ace after ace. The second match, i had 3 aces and an 88% 1st serve! I love how it worked, and it felt great. I gave it back today, and I keep begging my parents to buy it. It's expensive, and they already bought my racquet three months ago. But, this one enhances my game. They keep saying that I just got one, but I can buy it if I get the money. Two questions: 1. How do I convince my parents to get it? 2. How do I get the money, since I DON'T HAVE AN ALLOWANCE?  more

Resolved Question: Which tennis racquet would suit me the best according to my style of play?

I am a thirteen year old, who is between novice and advanced. I have very powerful groundstrokes, impressive footwork, and i am usually an aggressive baseliner. Though most of the time I consider myself as an all around player. My favorite surface is hard court, and currently i play with the Ncode Nblade Oversized-106 and the Ncode Ntour Midsize. I want to find either a prince, wison, or yonex tennis racquet that can really suit my game, and exceed my level in this marvelous game. Thank you for your answers!!! Sorry to delay this bit of info, but I am in different tournament teams and coached at a nearby tennis club. The only problem that i have is my defensive skills, which my coach says I need to work on...  more

Resolved Question: Which Wilson [K] Factor Racquet should i buy?

I'm soon going to be on the high school jv tennis team and i need a new tennis racquet. My previous one is a nfocus racquet with the oversized head. I usually am a baseline player and don't hit that many volleys and i move around quicker than most people would. Money is not an issue.  more

Resolved Question: Need a secondary tennis racquet. Any suggestions?

Hi, I want to get a secondary tennis racquet because I've been in situations in tournaments where my racquet strings have broken, and I want to make sure I'll be prepared for that. I use a 4 1/2 inch grip, and I'd like the racquet to be either Head or Prince. Any thing under $100 would be good too since it wouldn't be my main racquet. I use the Head microgel, so some thing similar to that would be good, and definately not any thing oversized. thanks.  more

Resolved Question: Is the tennis racquet I have good enough?

My mom's friend gave me her old racquet (a Prince Graphite Pro Oversize) and I don't know whether to buy a different one, or if this one is fine... I had an older one from Athletech or something... It was a bit small though. I also don't understand, what does oversize mean? Is it good to have an oversized racquet? And would it be too heavy for me? (I'm a 16 year old girl entering tennis camp and I really want to get on the tennis team, which is very picky). Thank you :)  more

Resolved Question: Best string for feel?

I have been playing tennis for a while and I am a big fan of the "feel racquets" that give you a complete feel when you hit the ball instead of a thud that you get with say an oversized racquet with a vibration dampener. Currently I string my racquet myself with Prince 16 Lightnings. I love these!!! But I break them far too often (one set every week of hitting). I would love to keep hitting with lightnings, however, it is far from economical. What strings would you suggest? I big banger-lightning hybrid? Or what? @ Glenn: Strings break because of hitting very hard and tension place on them because of use of spin. You must hit the ball very flat buddy. Just the slightest amount of topspin will break strings in the long run. If not hitting the sweet spot was the problem... pros would never break strings.  more
