Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s criticism of leaks from selection meetings included a suggestion that if what went on inside closed doors had to come out then the whole meeting might as well be televised. Dhoni may have been only half-serious but the idea found favour with Kishan Rungta, a former national selector. In fact Rungta made a similar suggestion way back in 1997 - he had told the Kolkata-based Telegraph that the selection meetings could be telecast live just as the proceedings in Parliament. Reacting to Dhoni’s statement, Rungta said his point made 11 years ago still held true. “Why should the deliberations be such a secret?” Rungta said. “Bringing about transparency via a live telecast would, in my opinion, be healthy for Indian cricket. I'm visiting your lovely islands soon and would like to know what is there for me to do as a tourist? I mean now that I have been strictly informed that I'm not a Trinbagonian I was just wondering. I mean the person who told me so may not have been around when my father had to leave me by my grandmother because of the coup, in 1970. That person may not know the pride as young boy I felt when we purchased the 2 Tri-Stars and call them we planes. I wonder if the person could remember how PSA use to be pack with people to see Police play Defense Force in a night game. What about the first and only night cricket match in the stadium? I was there, but was that person? How about when all ah town dig-up for months 'cause they putting down the salt water mains to out fire? Maybe they could tell me about how I use to be in the Oval to see Clive Loyde lead the West Indies to win, after win, after win in Test Cricket, and yuh better be there before 5 am to get in. What about the sadness on the day Dr. Williams died? It rain for 3 days after that. Ah wonder if the person could remember we had to listen to Hasley win the race on a black and white TV 'cause TTT lose the picture. Cricket is well known game in Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia. There are four different format of cricket: Test International, One Day International, First Class and Twenty20. Test International can last anywhere from one day to five days. They play seven to eight hours, depending on weather. First Class cricket is a domestic cricket game which is played between states. This game can last anywhere between one to three days. This format of the game is not that popular; however, players who play good in this format likely to chosen for Test International or One Day International. The most popular format of cricket is One Day International which is five hours game. This format has World Cup similar to World Series, which is played every four years. Twenty20, a latest and short format of cricket is really interesting. This is two hour game with lots of fun. People love this format and slowly forgetting other formats of the game. People love the latest format of the game because it last only in two hours. This game is seasonal unlike other formats. Players from different countries play together from same team. It is like All Star Game. Other formats are played on national level and players get paid by government. However, Twenty20 teams have owners and sponsors. Players get a huge amount of money by sponsors and owners. Therefore, they all are excited to play in Twenty20. The idea of this format is originally taken from MLB league, United States of America which is surprisingly worked. When it first started, everybody thought that it was not the format that cricket fan wanted. It was thought to be a huge risk. In the end, everything proved to be wrong. Weekend nights with pleasant atmosphere and amazing music really rock the stadium. Stadiums get crowded in every single game. Dancers perform at several different stages throughout games on techno and club mix music. When players hit sixes and fours, like home run in baseball, the sky gets colorful with fireworks. Players also get extra money for each homerun they make, so you may not surprise if you see thirty-forty sixes in just two hours. Other good thing about the game is, it is mostly played after 8:00 p.m. so people can go to work, relax for a bit and then come to see game. For many people, it’s like movie time. A few years after I was born, my dad met a stranger who was new to our small town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family. Because of my Bajan heritage, I maybe somewhat biased in my nomination of yesterday's great players: Viv Richards. Gordon Greenidge. Desmond Haynes. Malcolm Marshall. Michael Holding. Joel Garner... Brian Lara. What awesome players! The West Indies of old, these selected Kings of the Caribbean, were masters of world cricket. Today we know the Australians rule world cricket, even though the green and gold stars of the 1990s and 2000s are ageing and many more, (we breathe a sigh of relief), are bound to retire sooner rather than later. In the same way that we remember the West Indian Magicians of leather and willow marvels, we will never forget the Australian condotierres of the game: Gilchrist and McGrath included. The tendency is to draw comparisons between the greats of old and today's heroes. Yet, is it fair? After all, the legends of old never knew the bat technology that exists today. Nor did they earn the living possible today through generous contracts and resplendent sponsorships. How would a genius such as Viv Richards have fared as a young uprising star in today's cricketing world? Would his abilities have been even more enhanced by the scientific training regimen of the players of now? Would he have been equipped to perform even more amazing feats had he been equipped with today's computer-designed cricket bat? Or would these things have had no difference? What makes a player great-- and how can we compare yesterday's and today's stars? How amazing was Viv- and how much more would he have been with the technology available now! It staggers the mind. Oh, yes. Viv's presence was imposing- both with willow and as a personality. For me a stand-out was during the 1984 Texaco Trophy in England, where WI Struggled. Viv put together a magnificent innings, and single-handedly won the game scoring 160+ (for memory). He is the only Captain I have seen send off a fielder for poor fielding (R. Gabriel; 1984 WSC versus Australia, 2nd final) -- and what is more- bring on an injured one (A. Logie; split webbing between fingers) to replace him! Which did not make Kim Hughes (Aus Capt) at that time very enthralled with Viv as a presence. Amazing how Viv still looks in great shape today. It seems the WI players age in reverse and look younger as they retire from cricket. Hm. How many could stage a come-back? Put on the pads, Viv- we wish to see you bat again! (And Ambrose- we loved watching you bowl). more

Some users ask me I have some envy against indian cricketers.The opinion I said in question is main reason.I believe cricket has killed all sports in India.If you check revenue of sports,Cricketers take more than 2/3rd of it and remaining pieces is thrown away to other sports.if you check their lifestyle,all cricketers who have played international cricket live in posh bungalows,have super cars or bikes,whereas rest of other players leave alone bungalows or vehicles,They struggle to get basic necessities.I have seen many international Indian footballers and hockey players in crowded trains or buses.If you check families in India,If a child say that I will be cricketer parents send them to best coaches.if a child says that i want to become footballer or hockey player or any other sportsperson,Parents say you are mad, See for yourself their status.if you go in these sports your future will be doomed.This happened to my brother who played soccer for his school in inter-state tournaments.Due to my parents pressure,he had to give up dream of playing football.Just they won over-hyped 1983 World Cup,All cricketers start behaving like stars and rare medallists who have won us medals died in isolation and obscurity.A wrestler named Jadhav who won India bronze medal in 1952 died in poverty and nobody even know it.Cricket has killed our sports and I will never forgive Indian cricketers for this.Even India plays cricket they are not champions in it.I feel ashamed when countries like Ethiopia,Zimbabwe,Kenya and North Korea win more medals than India.I feel helpless when other country users says 1.1 billion people and 1 gold medal.it is like they are spitting in my face and I cannot rub it because they are saying true.I have read chinese newspapers and headlines reading 'A bad sporting country with huge population wins a gold medal'.All headlines were not praising that 1 gold medal.They were taunting us that you took more than century to win 1st individual gold medal. Fleur and Bill Weasley moved closely together, one another’s eyes the only thing in the universe. Molly and Arthur Weasley were also in each other’s arms. Arthur whispered in his wife’s ear, making her blush crimson. Even Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger were dancing, a tranquil look of happiness etched on both of their faces. It was a night of romance for all the Weasleys. Well, all except for one. Ginny Weasley wasn’t dancing. She wasn’t smiling or talking. Everyone at her table was on the dance floor. I have a bit of a 'thing' for older items. I have alot of brass vases, I love collecting candle holders, I adore the pictures by Waterhouse, brass beds, drapes not curtains that gently sweep the floor. Frames of our family, in contradiction, in black frames with the white inserts which give the impression of the picture either deeper or standing out of the frame, completely comfy lounges that arn't big and bulky. Furnishings which need to be child friendly/proof...lol... Childrens rooms. Girls, one who likes pink and princesses the other who leans slightly more in the direction of the gothic side. Boys, one who loves AFL, cricket and now golf. The other Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and small toys requiring imagination. Finally, we live in a Housing Trust/Public Housing home but have pretty much free reign, we also have a limited budget. Where would I begin? My mom is selling our house in the country and I've decided to move into my own apartment in the city for career and financial reasons. The problem is that I think I'm going to hate living in a city. I'm going to be exchanging the sounds of birds chirping in the morning and frogs and crickets at night, for the sounds of cars and sirens. I won't be able to see the stars or to take peaceful walks down by the creek. Other than the fact that its easy to find employment and that there are a lot of cute girls, is there anything good about living in a city? How can I get used to all the noise and people?
