Resolved Question: For an Australian citizen to be recruited by the All Blacks, can they do it this way?

Play good rugby for the district/provincial Oz club, that I get a contract from Canterbury, or Wellington or any New Zealand provincial team (lol) and work my way up until I get spotted by the All Blacks, or Junior All Blacks (and move up)??? Are there any other ways to do it apart from what I mentioned? I'm a Sri Lankan pre-teen migrating there, not an Australian born Kiwi supporter through and through! (FYI to prevent any confusion) I'm moving to Oz, not to NZ. To Risteard: Can you live in NZL for 3 years without having parents/grandparents or being born in NZL to be an All Black? I mean, like Jonah Lomu, and Tana Umaga. They lived in NZL for more than 3 years, but didn't have relatives or roots in NZL. So will I be able to play rugby, hopefully in NZL, for more than 3 years at provincial level and then be chosen by the ABs? more

In Australia right now, there's a general feeling of anger, shock and disappointment in Rugby League player Sonny Bill Williams leaving the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and joining a Rugby Union team in France. Just when he told so many young players about the importance of sticking with their team and working with them to overcome obstacles. When my 11-year old son heard about it, he just said, 'Oh the bastard!'. Rightfully so, he was one of his biggest fans for years and even got his jersey signed by this player. It shouldn't be all about money. Maybe in his mind, money was an essential factor, but loyalty to his team mates and fans should have been considered also in his decision. He didn't have much of my respect already, I thought he was over-rated, but he's lost the little regard I had. If he's brought back to Australia to face the legal implications of his actions, he won't have many people to greet him at the airport, only security guards to escort him to court. Thanks for the interesting comments, guys. I'd like to hear some more. Keep them coming! more

Matt King, is one of those centres that gets put on the wing. more

I'm looking to buy the best rugby union shoulder pads on the market. I live in Croatia where there is none so I must order it over the net, without trying them out. So I'm asking the experienced players which models and manufacturers are the best. Kooga, Canterbury, Aidas, Mitre, Predator, Optimum...??? I have tried my darn hardest to google it to no avail...I'm one answer short. Any one able to help me. I have so far: Auckland, Canterbury, North Harbour, Otago, Southland, Waikato, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Taranaki, Wellington, South Canterbury, Tasman, Northland and Counties Manukau. I just need one more, but, it's NOT: Bay Of Plenty, Mid Canterbury, East Coast, Wairarapa Bush, North Otago, West Coast, Wanganui, Nelson Bays, Buller, Horowhenua, Marlborough, Poverty Bay, Thames Valley, Tasman or King Country. Please help me if I am missing a team here..in dire straits and your help will be greatly appreciated..first one to give the right name gets the points. Thank you. Hey there...Your answers are all great and all BUT it's not the divisions I need...it's the missing names I need. Are there any teams I am missing from the above lists...... I have tried Bay of Plenty but I got it wrong.... all the ones on the list that says it's NOT are the ones I tried and got wrong...which is why I asked if anyone knew if I'm missing a team on the list. Resolved Question: Why Does EVERYONE think that the Springboks are going to win the Rugby World Cup 2007?

Why? I know they won the Super 14 with an all South African final. I also know they have started the international season unbeaten. But lets put that into perspective. In 1998 the Canterbury Crusaders won the Super 12 against the Auckland Blues. the All Blacks then went on to come last in the Tri nations. So by saying that SA are the favourites just because they won the super 14 is a flawed theory. Remember one of the hottest teams in the end of the Super 14 didnt even make the finals (Waikato) Also lets not forget that the South Africans dont really like travelling to Europe and especially not France. In fact they have lost there over the last 2 seasons. In fact the last time SA were in the Northern Hemisphere they lost to England, Ireland & France. Alot has also been made of the fact the the AB's have lost 3 out of 4 in the republic under Graham Henry. Lets flip that and it shows SA has lost 5 out of 8 to the AB's. SA are good but they arent Number 1 more
