Resolved Question: Trying to build muscle?
I'm 16 and I've started lifting weights and trying to build muscle in the past month or two. Where I'm at right now is that every two days I (try to) work out, and that includes: 3 sets of 30-50 situps 1-2 sets of 10 pushups (I don't like pushups) 3 sets of 6-8 bicep curls (15-20 pounds) 3 sets of 6-8 overhead tricep extensions (5-10 pounds) 3 sets of 6-8 single arm rows (25-30 pounds) 3 sets of 6-8 front raises and lateral raises (5-10 pounds) 3 sets of 6-8 chest presses (15-20 pounds) Now, I'm still not very muscular, and I'm sure I'm missing some super-important exercises I should be doing. I'm not really doing it for a sport or anything, just to be a bit more attractive for girls. I don't want massive muscles, I just don't want to be anorexically skinny or slightly chubby with no muscle. At the same time, i still have some fat I want to get rid of so that my abs are actually visible and such. I assume I'll have to do cardio to lose that fat though. What can I do at home without buying a machine? Any suggestions for exercises I'm missing (ideally just using a dumbell or a barbell)? moreVoting Question: Can someone help me find the User's Manual for the Daytona Sports Exercise Glider Rowing Machine?
I bought this machine but the instructions that came with it were poorly printed out, I can't see a thing. I got the piece together but I'm not sure how to work the computer operations. I can't seem to find a website that has the user's manual. Model # D-RW-D65V. moreResolved Question: Help with my workout routine?
I just started a new workout routine after about 3 months off and I wanted some input. I'm 18, Male, and 115~120 kg (fat not muscle), 6"2~3 but have surprisingly good stamina for someone as overweight as me. 45 minutes power walking a day on a treadmill with no incline resulting in about 250 calories burnt according to the machine 3 sets of 8 reps @ comfortable weight for bench, the one where you face the machine and pull it toward you, like a weighted row, and the one where you pull the top bar thing down. I do the weights every 2 days on a home gym machine. Also available to me in my home gym: elliptical/x trainer, leg press, and the one where you move your hands together. And also free weights and a real bench. I am wondering mainly: should I use the x trainer instead of the treadmill and for how long? Or perhaps alternate? (I much prefer the treadmill) is my weight training good or should I change up the reps/sets/weight/exercises/frequency?? The goal is to lose weight fast. my parent said if i can lose 20-30 kg by December they'll buy me an Armani suit. P.S sorry i don't know all the weight exercise names, hope you can workout what I'm talking about. moreVoting Question: Bigger, Stronger, Faster?
Hi everyone, I have recently bought a treadmill, exercise bike and a rowing machine (with levels 1-12, 12 being the hardest). I would like to get BIGGER, STRONGER & FASTER, for the up-coming basketball season. If someone could please write me a program to guide me, much appreciated. NO WEIGHTS (sorry) moreResolved Question: how many dress sizes could i lose in 3 months?
i exercise on the stepper from side to side machine for a half hour everyday. today is my fourth day in a row, i don't want to do too much as i dont want to give up, i kinda dont want myself to feel like my lifestyle is changing much or that i'm "dieting" id prefer it to be healthy eating otherwise il think about it all the time which will make me give up. So half hour everyday is good to star off with, i am burning 250 cals so far but plan to speed things up when im able to. i bought a dress for a wedding that is 4 sizes too small, i bought it on purpose as my goal, i am a size 14 trying to get to a 10 and i am 154 pounds which is almost 11stone. Any experts out there that can help with my goal? I want to know its possible and that maybe i dont have to do it everyday because i really dont want to give up. moreResolved Question: i need to drop a jean size?

Hi, I'm a 16 year old male, I'm 6”2 and am around 172 lbs. I apologize for any ignorance I may show when posting this. I'm currently trying to find a way to tone my body to a better standard. I work out normally with a dumbbell at the weight 13kg. I have the strength and my body is slightly defined, but I would much like to improve my chest, and slightly my arms. Seeing as I already have the strength, I wasn't sure if bench pressing would be my solution. I know that that would add body mass, and I wouldn't really want to add too much. I don't mind adding mass, but I am not really looking into improving it as I think I am at a suitable one so far. I was thinking of getting a 50kg bench press, as like I said I don't want to go mad, would that a) tone my chest, arms, back, shoulders, stomach? b) would it add a lot of mass to my body? In addition, I also looked into rowing machines, as I when I looked both up, apparently a rowing machine would work those areas, would they? And if so is it good? I would prefer not to go to the gym, as I have little time to travel to ones which aren't that close, and would much prefer to buy equipment, around £100 for home use, seeing as a gym member ship can be around £30+ a month. I don't mind increasing my strength, and mass slightly, but my main motivation is to tone most or if not all of my upper body. I know jogging can be good, but I am asthmatic and with the cold weather, jogging can't always be useful when my asthma is bad.. I was thinking of taking up cycling when the days get longer, but I don't know if that would get the benefits I would hope for. But if I was to cycle I would like that to be my secondary exercise. Also, I know this sounds rather stupid, but I would like to do this without having to change the way I eat. I am not fat and I guess I eat normal, I am not a strict healthy eater but I say I generally do eat rather healthy, compared to that of a lot of people. The “look” I guess I am aiming for is clearly one which does look strong as well as defined. I don't want to be ridiculously bulky as that if far from what I want, nor do I want to be toned but rather thin. Thanks for reading that long post and thank you for those of you who reply. moreResolved Question: I know it is long but only respond if u will answer all or some questions?
moreResolved Question: Lose Weight in 4 months?
Grad is in 4 months! Any ideas to slim down? I likely need to lose at least 20, but ideally 30/40. I just found out that my parents bought an Elliptical Trainer and a Rowing machine for our house (Yay!), and I know it's easy to hop on and just go, but I don't have more than about an hour or two per day to exercise, so it needs to be effective. I've heard interval training is good. Other than elliptical and a rowing machine, do you recommend other forms of exercise to decrease body weight? Also, what about a meal plan? I've often heard celebrities do the low-carb diet and lose a ton of weight. Is this possible, even though the body needs carbohydrates for exercise? Does anyone recommend a different-style diet? Also, this sounds kind of off-topic, but what kind of dress do you think I should buy if I'm wanting to "minimize". I think that's about all I had wanted to know. If you think there's something I'm missing let me know! Thanks so much for your help! moreResolved Question: Which foods?
Since giving up smoking I have put on 2 stone so I have bought an exercise dvd and a rowing machine but I am not sure what foods I should eat less of or avoid all together. moreResolved Question: is my rowing machine faulty? details below?
i first started a rowing machine at school i found they are realy excellent to help me lose weight(im 2 stones overweight lol) so my parents bought me one from ebay second hand. im just a bit worried the resistance on my machine is too strong and can damage my arms and shoulders. the one at school does exercise you and tires you but at my home the machine realy makes your arms hurt and seems realy strong i was jus wonderin is it ok for it to be so strong. and i hav to stop with my rowing machine becus it hurts my arm not because im tired. i know my arms will strenthin but is it suppose to be such a strong resistance. if it is i was thinking of jus carrying on until my arms adjusted to it but i want to make sure it ok to before i start working out on it. im a girl ( telin u this jus incase it makes a diference if ur grl or boy) oh an i did ask my parents they're not sure either. thanks for any help ill be grateful moreResolved Question: just answer the questions thanks?

I'm about to start purchasing weights and such, but I can't afford to buy a row machine yet. I'm trying to cut out going to the gym and doing all this at home. I got a couple questions about lifting weights and working out. Well I already work out about 5 days out of the week. Usually I do it as Day 1 I will do push ups, lift weights, and pull ups. Day 2 I run and do sit ups. The third day I rest and do that throughout the week. I'm in good shape and stick with the routine so that's not an issue and I'm not a noob to working out. Anyways, I'm 5'11" and 155lbs. I eat healthy blah blah blah. I have some good muscles I'd say but I'm still pretty skinny, and I'd like to get more buff, so a couple questions: - Is it just a matter of working out more? I mean would I get results if I did my routine twice a day? (I do progressively go up in number of push/pull ups and amount of weight so...) - Currently I do bench press, bicep curls, upright and bent over rows, and triceps extensions. Am I missing anything really? (I use free weights, don't use a gym/machines). - I don't want to have to buy protein shakes and all that crap--honestly I'm cheap! I read this article as well talking about how you don’t necessarily need them: http://health.msn.com/dietfitness/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100166349 just curious what your input on that is. I eat healthy, usually a bowl of Kix and a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats for breakfast, a turkey sandwich with yogurt and an apple or some light chips or something, and then whatever my dad makes for dinner, which is pretty much always something healthy. -My last question pertains to endurance. I’m wondering how you would recommend working endurance into a workout. I mean is it possible to develop endurance while also getting “buff”? I know this is long but thanks to anyone who responds, I appreciate it. If there are any good websites/forums you could suggest that’d be cool too. A guy at work is bringing in some books he bought for me on Thursday so that should help too. Thanks a bunch for any info though, I appreciate the help. moreResolved Question: Will using a rowing machine tone up my stomach muscles?
