Open Question: holley scored 10 points in a basketball game.?
she could have scored 1 point free throws, 2 point field goal, or 3 point field goals. in how many ways can she score her 10 points? moreResolved Question: Should the NFL change its overtime rules?
Seeing the Chicago New Orleans game just reminded me of how flawed the sudden death system is, where the first team to score wins. It seems that whicever team wins the coin toss almost always ends up winning the game because they kick a field goal and the other team doesn't even get a chance on offense. Does anyone know what percentage of OT games are won by the team that wins the coin toss? Should the rules be changed to a time limit like basketball or what? What do you think of the rule? moreVoting Question: Solve the problem........?
A basketball player scored 25 points in a game. The number of three-point field goals the player made was 15 less than three times the number of free throws (each worth 1 point). Twice the number of two-point field goals the player made was 7 more than the number of three-point field goals made. Find the number of free-throws, two-point field goals, and three-point field goals that the player made in the game. moreResolved Question: Should I keep playing soccer?
when I was a kid and an year ago, I loved soccer. People said I had a talent, and I almost made to pro. But, recently I don't feel like playing soccer anymore. About an year ago, I had freedom to dribble and score a goal and even if I lost possession when dribbling, nobody complained or anything. We just played for fun of it. Putting not so much importance in winning the game. Just for fun. and I loved it! and now, I'm in the university, and there is only one limited space in the gym, but the time is set for specific time for soccer, because the same court is used for Volleyball, basketball...etc and It is cold outside. so many student come here indoor and they make teams. There are many teams so if your team got scored 2 goals, then your team is out and have to wait for your turn to come, but it takes forever to get on the field again. So your team must win to keep playing. so they would do anything to win. As the time passes, I start to hate the game. I don't play soccer anymore. I miss the old days when we just played for fun. so I try to join the varsity team. Problem is that, then I should practice on my own. so I did, but it became boring to practice alone, and my friend barely practice with me because he has his own affair. so I am about to give up and slowly, my passion is dying. what do you think mates? Should I keep playing soccer? I feel like the passion is gone. If I were to move to place like Brazil, and play soccer for fun as they do, I think I will be as good as before and again my passion will may again be ignited. Soccer was a serious matter for me too. so Should I keep playing soccer? moreVoting Question: Mario Chamers, Eric Gordon, or Russell Westbrook?
I am in need of someone who can give me good APG and FT% and little assists. I am torn between 3 guards who just so happen to be rookies and are all in the free agent pool. In Miami, Mario Chalmers has been in the starting lineups and performing well. Chalmers gets my assist numbers at 4.5 per game. The downside is that he doesn't shoot too well from the stripe at 66.7%. This shooting from the field is at 41.9% which is a number I can live with seeing as I'm leading my league in FG%. I think I should pick him up while he's hot. Then, in LA, Clippers guard Eric Gordon has shined because of Cuttino Mobley's absence but doesn't get the assist numbers I want at only 1.6 per. However, his percentage from the free throw line is an amazing 82.4%. He shoots a 400 from the field, a little less than Chalmers but again something I can deal with. He has been picked up in a lot of leagues and is becoming a trend in fantasy basketball which is why I'm surprised no one in my league hasn't seen what I have in this kid. Russell Westbrook is my other option shooting 80.5% from the free throw line and averaging 4.1 assists per game. His downside is his field goal shooting at only 34.9% and he averages 2.4 turnovers per game. It doesn't seem a lot compared to D-Wade giving me about 4, but TOs are something I wanna cut down on for sure. So should I go with Chalmers who is hot at the moment but doesn't give me my FT% I want (averaging 13.4 points with 4.4 assists and 3.0 rebounds over 5 games), the fantasy trend that is Eric Gordon (#1 most added player in CBS Fantasy Basketball leagues and for good reason), or Russell Westbrook who doesn't shoot too well but gives me the assists that I want? Thanks!! I would be dropping Rasho Nesterovic (who surprisingly is averaging 3.6 APG) My active roster: Tony Parker Dwyane Wade Michael Redd Dwight Howard Al Jefferson Richard Jefferson Kevin Durant LaMarcus Aldridge Randy Foye DJ Augustin Rasho Nesterovic Inactives (benched because of injury): Mikael Pietrus - Out until at least mid-December Monta Ellis - Out until at least Dec. 17 vs. Indiana moreVoting Question: Basketball position for me?

Hey guys I just turned 13, i am in seventh grade, and my dream is to join the NBA. I am about 5'7, and I just moved to brooklyn new york. I moved from New Jersey and i played on the travel team. i always played basketball in new jersey and every one knew what i was capable of. i was the best player growing up. i decided to join the travel team in 6th grade, and everyone thought i was going to be great. I was terrible. I knew deep down i can play. but for some reason all my skill slowly drains away whenever a game starts. I moved during the travel season, and played about 7 games. I scored one field goal in only two of the games. At that point i gave up in my game, but now, ive slowly began to regain my game and now i want to play in the worst way. i weigh about 100, but i am 5'7, i am really skinny and i think thats one of the main reasons i did not play well in a league. i want to work out and get ready, what can i do to get ready for the nba? Hi! I finished my math homework all except for this one question. =/ I've been stuck on it for awhile The chapter is on substitution and elimination. Here's the problem: In basketball, a free throw is 1 point and a field goal is either 2 or 3 points. Suppose a professional basketball player scored a total 1928 points in one season. The total number of 2-point field goals and 3-point field goals was 701, and he made 475 of the 557 free throws he attempted. Find the number of 2-point field goals and 3-point field goals the player made this season. Can you show me how to do it step-by-step? Thanks in advance! =) There is an answer key in the back of my book that says its 640 2-point field goals and 61 3-point field goals but i don't know how they got that answer. =( moreResolved Question: need help with politics questions?

They do the same thing for Baseball, Basketball, Hockey..even Golf. Whatever happened to the simple stats like: "Who rushed for the most yards this week?" "Who is the leading quarterback for passing yards for the season?" "How many sacks did this DB get in a game?" "Who rushed for most yards from scrimmage in a single season?" I'm just saying....why don't they simplify the stats....No one is gonna remember this: " Leborn James has made an avg of 3 more field goals from a 20 foot distance, avg 2 more steals, avg 5 more dunks, 10% layup increase, 2.4 assists, at home with a crowd of 20,000 or more during the 1st half of the season since the 2006 season!" They both are very outspoken and fear no one and sometimes even arrogant can cause a team to lose focus. Rasheed Wallace has a big sense of humor. Larry Johnson did to andwhen they both got mad they would yell at the ref throw tantrums and when they scored they would show up the same refs they threw tandtrums on by doing taunting jestures. Rasheed would open his mouth and take a loud yell and LJ would cross his arms and make a L and yell as well. On the basketball court Rasheed is todays version of LJ in that they are two PF's that are equally gifted in the post from behind the arc. These two also when motivated on the basketball court made their teams unstoppable. But, they have been known to become too complacent and not use their gifts to their best abilities as they would settle on jumpshots rather than recognize their talents to drive and post up. If they recognize their ability to drive and are more motivated rather than trying to show people up they have the talent to be regarded as some of the best PF's to play the game w/ Duncan, Garnett, Barkely, Malone, etc. Larry Johnson: Was not known for his flashy dunkd he was a monster he threw it down with power and authority everyone was scared to guard him downlow. He also was a very prolific three point shooter and was the first Hornet in franchise history to be selected to an All-star game. LJ was also a very good rebounder and a defender and was an instrumental part in the Knicks making the Finals as his 4 point play would always be remembered as one of the greatest shots in NBA history. Rasheed Wallace: Is very gifted can rebound, a very good defender, can shoot the 3, drive and post up. Is the only player in NBA history w/ more than 400 3pt field goals made (869) along w/ more than 400 blocks made (1,289). By the time he is done w/ his career he is going to be a 1000/1000 player in these two categories. Ya I would agree as well Sheed is a better shooter moreResolved Question: basketball question...?

I graduated high school in May and am now in college... not the college of my choice. Which is why i want to re apply to the college i wanted to go to but applied to late. It was full =[ will someone please PLEASE proofread my essays? I know theyre not amazing but.... please lol 10 points best answer!!! (i need two) #1: I am a very determined person. When a difficult task is assigned to me, I will use all means necessary to complete it. I never give up. I have been through a lot of tragedies over the past four years, some not imaginable by even my closest peers. Though it has been very difficult to continue, I am determined to get through. I was determined to get into my high school's honor choir, which I did. I was determined to play on our high school's basketball team, which I did. I was determined to win the science fair, which I did. I am determined to get a good education, which I will. Life throws many obstacles at you which you must overcome. One of the many obstacles I am forced to deal with on a daily basis is my stage fright. I have been singing for about ten years and have been struggling with stage fright since I started. I am in the honors Acappella choir at my school which is an audition only choir. I have no problem singing in front of my director, which is how I got in. Unfortunately, whenever I volunteer to do a solo or audition, I am faced with a horrible fear. My knees tremble and I get dizzy. Perhaps the worst side effect is its effect on my voice. It shakes and I have no control over it. I have two completely different voices. One is a well trained, proficient voice suited to sing any song; the other is amateur and unprofessional. I have taken many strides to overcome this fear. For example, I sing in front of my choir every chance I get. Although I know my voice sounds horrible, I understand I must train in front of my peers so I will eventually be able to sing before an even bigger crowd. Another example of an attempt to conquer my fear occurred in April of 2007. Our choir was selected to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City. There was a solo in one of the Latin songs we were required to sing and I was determined to audition for it. Not in anticipation of acquiring the solo, but for the opportunity to sing in front of three hundred and sixty people including our three choirs, our directors, other honor choirs from around the country, and of course our famous conductor, Dr. Andre Thomas. Although I did not get the solo, I feel this experience made me stronger in the way I now perform. I still have terrible stage fright, but I am determined to get over this irrational fear. #2: For years, there has been one question circulating through my mind. It causes much discomfort when not answered and can perch itself on your mind to cause annoyance. This simple question is very powerful. It has the power to prompt chaos. It has the power to solve the most intricate of problems. It has the power to ease. This popular yet destructive question is but one simple word. Why? The question, why, is a very strong question, especially for such a small word. This question has the ability to solve crimes. This question will help put families who have suffered to rest. This simple question will keep assailants off the vulnerable streets. The question, why, is a very common question used in the field of forensic science. My understanding of forensic science is a tool used to help put worried families of lost loved ones to rest. Forensic science is used to exploit the truth of a situation and put deserving criminals behind bars. I have made it my goal in life to pursue the field of forensic science. Ever since I was ten years old, I have known that I wanted a career in law enforcement but wasn’t sure which branch to pursue. I was torn between the Federal Bureau of Investigation or a homicide detective. It was not until I was fourteen when I discovered I wanted to be a forensic scientist because I loved science aswell. I have always excelled in science and math. I see the art of science as a tool used to solve puzzles. I see everything as a puzzle that needs to be completed and science can be used to solve most of them. The University of Central Florida is the primary school to help me achieve my goal of becoming a forensic scientist. It had the best forensic science program in the entire country and I would be honored to gain an education from it. I have been dreaming of a career in forensic science for as long as I can remember and if I were to be accepted, would bring me one step closer to my goal. moreResolved Question: How do you solve for the number of different ways to score 31 points in a basketball game?

ok so i play in a middle school league for basketball and i have been playing for 3 years. in 6th grade i was a litte inexperienced so i averaged 4 ppg 2rpg 3apg and had a low field goal. our record was 3-18. then in seventh grade i practiced more and averaged 12ppg 6 apg 3 rpg.(i finally established my position as a pointguard.) but we had a 2-19 record. then this year i average 22 ppg 11 apg 7 rpg. i practically drain every jumper. but the thing is we only have 1 win so far. so far, our record is 1-15. i mean i know my stats are good but 3 seasons of being the last seed in the league is not a coincidence. i have a power forward who can post up and everything. am i like a curse or just that i hog the balll too much? i sometimes get stuffed like 1 time per game moreResolved Question: Sports: Should I be a field goal kicker at the college level?
I've always had a strong leg, and this year i recently discovered that I can kick the hell out of a football. I play soccer, basketball, and used to play football, but it wasn't til recent when our kicker transferred that they asked me to kick a few field goals. So I went out to practice one day, started with an extra point, kept moving back 10 yards, and couldn't miss. I managed to make a 45 yarder, and my second attempt at a 50 yarder, in addition to about 15 other shorter field goal kicks. They were shocked and i've already started kicking for the team. So I just wanted to know what's the average field goal long for a college kicker. Preferably D-1. Take note that i'm a senior in high school and I could probably kick farther if i worked on it considering i've never focused on leg strenghtening. 5 minutes ago - 3 days left to answer. moreResolved Question: Was defense better in the 90s or Now? I also have somethin for the Kobe Jockers?
I still say the 90s... Handchecking goes a long way, and for the people who say there were no double or triple teams, you have to be retarded.. .because there were double and triples all the way back to Kareem, even further im sure... Jordan was doubled and tripled, and there were traps... Trap defenses were used alot throughtout the NBA, and comined with the allowance of Hand-Checking, Perimeter players had a hard time scoring... Zones were not legal, but they were used.. Certain plays start out one way, but then collapse into a zone as soon as someone penetrates..Thats been going on forever you cant ban that, its just a natural act...Also, there were waaaay better, tougher, smarter and stronger defenders in the 90s than there are now... Id rather be matched up against Ben Wallace than Dennis Rodman (Who was alot stronger than u may think) anyday.... If Jordan played today, he wouldve averaged about at least 40+ for a season...His highest PPG average was 37.1 and shooting 48%, and that was when Hand-Checking was allowed, The Jordan Rules were implemented ( which basically meant the other team sent everybody at Jordan and hacked away) and all of the best players were still in their prime, it was the 86-87 season...So, if Kobe can average 35 points shooting 45$ in one season WITH handchecking made illegal, Jordan would surprass that easily... For those who say well Kobe is a better shooter, you're wrong again... The highest number of 3pt shots attempted and made by Bryant was 180-516 in the 05-06 season, when he averaged the 35... That means he shot a not so good 35%...While Jordan, the highest amount of 3-pt shots he made in a made in a season was 111-260...Giving him a percentage of 43%... There was another year where Jordan once again made 111, but this time he attempted 297 which means he shot 37%... Still higher than Bryant... As far as Field Goal Percentage, Jordan is a career 49% shooter, while Bryant is a career 45% shooter... So for all you Kobe Jockers, where exactly is Kobe better than Mike at? Rebounding? The highest rebounding total kobe ever averaged was 6.9..Jordans highest? 8.0.. .Is Kobe better defensively? The highest amount of steals Kobe ever averaged was 2.2, with a career average of 1.5... The Highest amount Jordan ever averaged was 3.16, with a career average of 2.35... OH, maybe it was blocks per game? Kobe highest was just 1.0, and a career average of .5, Jordans higest was 1.6, with a career average of .8...Oh wait, maybe Kobe is a better passer than MJ, Even though I can flat out tell you I know this isnt true, Im gonna let the stats prove it for me... Kobe highest average was 6.0, with a career average of 4.6 apg... Jordans highest average was 8.0, with a career average of 5.3 apg...So wht now? I guess im gonna hear well Jordan never won without Pippen an Pippen won without Jordan blah blah blah... Last time I checked, IT takes a team to win championships right? Magic had Kareem, Larry had all his Hall of Famers, Russell had all his hall of famers, Pierce had KG and Allen, Duncan Had Robinson, and then Ginobili and Parker.. So how is it possible tht Jordan could have won without someone to take some of the pressure off of him? I dont recall Kobe winning anything without Shaq, he got kicked out of the first round and he had Lamar Odom!! Then, he gets Pau Gasol and still cant win a championship... Jordan never had an inside presence and he won 6... If Kobe is so much better than Jordan, then that should make up for the deficincies that Lamar Odom has, and make them a better combo than Jordan and Pippen right? Wrong... Kobes not better, Lamars not better, but Pau Gasol was a better inside scorer than any player Jordan played with... So why cant Kobe elevate his team to win? He runs the same offense... The same coach... Whats the problem? Now, back to the defense, all you have to do is read this article...and it would prove that jordan would just murder today's defense... “I think that ‘Jordan Rules’ defense, as much as anything else, played a part in the making of Michael Jordan,” said Tex Winter, who was an assistant coach for that Chicago team. The 1990 loss forced Jordan and the Bulls to find an answer to Detroit’s muscle. “Those Jordan Rules were murder,” Winter explained. “The fact that we could win the next year even though they were playing that defense says everything about Jordan as a competitor. Any lesser player would have folded his tent.” Jordan had to dig deeper to respond to the Pistons, and his effort pushed his Bulls to six championships over the next eight seasons. The unfortunate footnote to this legacy is that under an interpretation of the rules adopted by the NBA last season, if Dumars were playing today he would not be allowed to guard Jordan so physically, or perhaps even guard him at all. Today Dumars is the chief basketball executive of the team he once led as a player. He’s an honest man, which means he chooses his words carefully. Ask Asked in July if he could defend Jordan under today’s interpretation of the rules, Dumars first laughed, then offered a long pause before replying, “It would have been virtually impossible to defend Michael Jordan based on the way the game’s being called right now.” If you wanna know any more about how defense now sucks, go here http://hoopshype.com/articles/defense_lazenby.htm and please end the debate about whose better kobe or mj and stop saying that defense today is better than it was then... Ok peace Overrated.... You sound so stupid... I saw Jordan Play...And that one clothesline Kobe took doesnt even compare to thetimes the Knicks and Pistons tossed Jordan around.... Its obvous that YOU havent watched any jordan games because you would knw this... Rodmen kneed Jordan in the groin when he played for the Pistons and yet you say No one could touch Jordan? What Raja did to Kobe was just payback for Kobe elbowing Raja to get open, you would know this if u watch the video... Jordan getting attacked and elbowed was because that was what the Jordan Rules were... And get off the traps thing, teams were trapping in the 90s idiot... Stop Kobe jocking and realize that Jordan got trapped, triple teamed, hacked, and everything else...All you have to do is type in Jordan Rules to find out... I dont see Kobe having a defense set up specifically for him.. and just so you know, I played 3 years varsity in high school bro, so yea, all your points are invalid Chuck Daly describing the Jordan Rules: If Michael was at the point, we forced him left and doubled him. If he was on the left wing, we went immediately to a double team from the top. If he was on the right wing, we went to a slow double team. He could hurt you equally from either wing -- hell, he could hurt you from the hot-dog stand -- but we just wanted to vary the look. And if he was on the box, we doubled with a big guy. The other rule was, any time he went by you, you had to nail him. If he was coming off a screen, nail him. We didn't want to be dirty -- I know some people thought we were -- but we had to make contact and be very physical. Sounds like theres touching to me moreResolved Question: Australia and team Sports in Beijing?
Why are all our teams choking? I mean Water Polo, we lost all our games in the last few seconds. Hockey, we lose to Spain after leading 2-0. Softball, all we need to do is keep Japan scoreless for 1 inning. And now in Basketball, I can't even remember the last time Australia landed a Field Goal. It has been a disappointing Olympics as far as our team are concerned. I hate to say it, but the Opals were lucky to get out of the group stages playing like this, they aren't even scoring when they get a free shot away. Yes, I know that Australia have done well at these Olympics. But looking back at the games, we really should have won some of them given the position we were in. Regarding the Bball. Yes, USA played better then us, they deserved the Gold. It is just disappointing considering we shot at 20% and I know we are capable of doing MUCH better then that, despite how well USA were marking us. I am not whinging. I never said we deserved a medal over countries who beat us. All I am saying is that I think our team sports didn't perform to their potential these games. moreResolved Question: Girls can you go out with this guy?
