My dog is medium sized, somewhere between 50 and 70 pounds. He's deathly afraid of water for some reason, so when we bathe him in summer we have to put a heavy leash on him and tether it to our basketball hoop. It gets the job done but the poor thing fights it all the way, and after we let him loose he runs off and won't come back until the hose is put away again! In winter we can't bathe him because it's too cold outside, and we cant get him to get into the bathtub. Plus he sheds like no other dog I've seen before and even if we did get him to bathe in the tub we'd be pulling dog hair out of the drain for months! I don't want to have to take him to a groomer, either. He's a very kind dog and has never bitten anyone but I'd hate to see what would happen if the groomer tried to douse him in water! So how can we bathe our dog in the winter without taking him to the groomers? He's starting to stink and I get the feeling visitors think we don't take good care of him. Also, is there any way to get him to be less afraid of water? Thank you! These answers are great, keep them coming! Next year he will be the best clutch player on our bench. He will be the next Horry type bench player. He will retire in LA but i think this is he his last season as a starter. We need a quick defensive pg who can shoot. I dont think Farmar is the future. We need to sign some one Fisher can train to start taking some mins. Do you think Fisher will remain on as an assist coach after he retires. I think he will be with LA forever and become a coach someday, at least an assist. He is an excellent person with a high basketball IQ. He is the president of the player association and anyone involved with a union should know what a tough job union workers have these days. He will be like Shaw and Magic and Kareem. He will bleed LA till he is done. So will Kobe. Kobe has developed into a great leader. He is the hardest worker in the game. No one practices harder and love the game more. He motivates everyone around him. One day when he retires a Lakers he will become part owner just like Magic and he will help developer future lakers. Maybe as assistant coach or GM. He is smart, well educated, multinational player who loves the game. He will get at least one more ring with LA and this team before he retires in 8 to 9 years. LA will owe it to him to keep him on. I just hope he realizes whats best for the team and signs his next contract keeping in mind they have to pay Pay, Bynum and the TEAM. Shaq was greedy that's why he had to go. His days were past and we wouldn't give him 20 mil a year when he only had 2 good yeas left and 40 games a year. I think Kobe will take a fair deal so he can be on a winning team. Its worth giving up a little when you are that rich to be on a team that is established and willing to work with you to build a winning team. LO already said he will take a pay cut next season to stay in LA. I hope he get motivated and stays for much less. Like Kobe he wants to win more than he want an extra 2 mil a year. Okay, so a few months ago i had a weird dream where i was at this high school. I am 15 years old by the way and a sophmore. Well, i was in a school. the school was empty from what i saw. Thats when i went into the gym. I saw the basketball hoops and stuff. and the gym was huge! i then left out in another door that led into the same hallway and there were kids filled in the hallway. They were talking and stuff. I then turned the corner and walked with some kids. The school looked old. Not like it look aged or anything but old fashion. Thats when i saw her. I believe i saw my mom! she was dressed in 60's attire walking with another girl laughing. they looked to be like juniors or seniors. i called out for my mom but she didn't respond and they walked right past me. I wanted to follow them but for some reason i didn't i kept walking where i came to a big and wide stair case that kids were walking up and down. I walked up and i found a library the library was really big with alot of books with table and lights. i went through the isles of the book shelves until i was alone. i kept walking until i heard a girl crying. I jogged through a few isles until i saw a girl. She had a large white shirt on and blue jeans and she was curled up crying. She obviously didn't notice i was there. she became real red. It was really sad. when i began to walk away out side of the bookshelves i woke up. after that i told my family about the dream. i could remember perfectly. She told me that it was weird. I described the outfit that she was wearing in my dream and she told me that she might have had clothes like that. She didn't remember. Well this week we went to boston to visit my grandparents and stuff. It was our first time visiting them at their home. me and my brother finally got to see how my mom's childhood home looked! And yesterday we went to her high school as we walked around i had felt like the place was familiar. After we left one part of the building we went into the gym. It was the same gym that i saw in my dream. My mom said "this was our gym, but they've changed it a little." and then i said. "Yeah they've changed the floor and the walls, but the ceilings the same." Thats when everyone looked at me. I told them that this was the same gym from my dream. i persisted that we went out the same door that i did in my dream we went into the hallway, and it was the same! the light fixtures and the old pictures and we turned the corner and everything was the same. I pointed and told my mom that this was where i saw here with her friend. Thats when i just sprinted down the hallway, I saw the stairs and i got excited. I ran up them. and the library was the same. only the lights were diffrent on the tables. i tried to find the isle of the bookshelves where i saw the girl and i did. when i got to that spot o just broke down crying. I later looked at my mom's old year book and was able to point out the girl that she was walking with and the girl in the library. What is wrong with me. What happened? help??? more

Well I'm a 13 year old girl and I'm very athletic. I play for my town's travel basketball team and I'm pretty good. I can make layups and shots from inside the paint but I know I can be better. What I really want to work on are my 3 pointers and long shots. I was wondering if any one had an idea of a good work out routine. Like i said, I'm 13, 96 pounds and 5 ft 2 ins. Everyone who thinks Stephen Curry is good has no right to call themselves College Basketball fans. I'm a HUGE College BB and Football fan, I like College sports more than pros. Let me tell you Stephen Curry is overrated, he's a Poorman's Ray Allen. He can't drive to the hoop, he can't create his own shot, and he can't play defense either. This guys has been over-hyped by ESPN and Sportscenter. If you think he's good, then you guys are Brainwashed by ESPN. Sure he had a good run last year in the Tournament, but thats it. He's nothing special...mark my words. The only thing he can do is catch and shoot, he's like a Crappy version of Reggie Miller. Except Reggie can actually drive to the hoop every once in a while and Reggie is 6"7, Curry's only 6"3. Vegan 4 life.....Are you kidding me? Everyone on Y/A thinks Stephen Curry is sooo good. Do you guys remember a guy named Adam Morrison? Yea he's just like Stephen Curry, both suck at defense and both rely too much on their jumpshots. Guys.. I really want to ask these questions. Say, you come from behind this short player (or in front). He's holding the ball above his head in the shooting position getting ready to shoot, eyes looking to the hoop. 1. Is it legal to put up a hand right on top of the basketball on top of him a. touching the ball? b. without touching the ball? (so you are sort of hindering him from jumping or shooting even before he releases). Would it violate the "principle of verticality"? Or is it a foul only IF there is contact? How then would you shot block him without fouling? Please describe! One more thing. What is the legal way to get a steal when he is in that position? I have found a few good deals this season. I got a rock-n-roll tricycle, v-tech book, and a fisher price baby basketball hoop all on discount. The tricycle is usually $40 I got it for $15, the book is usually $20 I got it for $13, and the hoop is usually $22 and I got it just today for $11. I also bought a bunch of 75-90% off summer toys. Voting Question: Physics question for basketball players?

So I was shooting some hoops the other day. Just for the heck of it, I started shooting the ball with more arc. Instead of, say a 15' arc, I would throw it up there with a 20' arc. I noticed that the rebounds were higher and farther away from the basket. So my question is: Would it be an ADVANTAGE for the offense to shoot the ball with more arc, so when they miss, the rebound is higher and farther away from the basket and more accessible to the guys on offense? In other words, a normal rebound is in close, so the defenders (being closer to the basket) have an advantage. If the rebound is farther away, the odds go up for an offensive rebound. What do you think? more

Eversince i was a little I loved basketball. Now when a girl ask me out, I say sorry i don't have time, I wanna shoot some hoops. Then I feel so bad, I guess im too sensitive which leads to gay. My coach, parents, male friends always said man should never feel bad, they should never cry and nobody can hurt them.All my friends would be dancing and I'll be outside practicing. On the team my teamates are sometimes staring at the cleerleaders and talking about how hot that one is when I'm giving instructions. I not gay I just like basketball more. Some people say it is terrible but I always thought it was a blessing or else I wouldn't have recieved a d1 scholarship in basketball. Resolved Question: I WANT MY ANNOYING NEIGHBORS GONE NOW! HELP ME PLEASE?

I have these neighbors who moved in next door just a few months ago. But in those few months its has been hell. There are about 3 families living in there with about 10 kids. No exaggerating there. One of the men just got out of jail not to long ago and has strange people in and out of the house. I know they are doing drugs because I can smell it. They drink to no end and then throw their beer cans over my fence into my back yard! I have caution tape around my front yard because i am reseeding, they tear down the tape, they pulled over my sons basketball hoop so I had to put it away. I have called the police on them for noise at all hours of the night but as soon as the cop leaves they turn it back up LOUD! my other neighbors cant stand them either. This neighborhood is mainly working families or retired people. It has always been quiet, clean, and cop free until these people came in. But when we talk to the homeowner ( they are renters) all they say is to just keep calling the police. They are not interested in getting them out of the house. The kids are screaming and yelling until late outside, they throw grapefruit on other peoples property and dirty up the road with squished ones. This is terrible. What can I and my other bothered neighbors do to get rid of these people? more

Resolved Question: Please help! I have a destructive 3 year old that I'm strugling to control?

I have a 3 year old boy who recently has become destructive. It's an everyday occurrence, but in just the last 3 days, he has painted my kitchen floor and living room rug with black paint, cut my cell phone charger in several pieces, cut the net off his basketball hoop, destroyed a potted plant, spreading the debris over 20 feet, intentionally broke christmas ornaments, wrote on walls and doors with marker...etc. This seems to be getting worse every day. He's never alone for more than a few minutes when this happens, and I've done all I can to hide everything from him (paint, markers scissors, knives), but he will stack 2 or 3 chairs on top of each other to find them. Is this normal behavior that he'll grow out of, or do I need more help? He is otherwise a delightful child. He gets along with others in school and church, he doesn't hurt other people or try to hit me. He seems happy and well adjusted in every other facet of his life. more

Resolved Question: Am I sensitive or is he disrespectful?

We went to get a main Christmas tree and a small one for downstairs. The guy asked if we wanted one for a tabletop and my husband said OMG! A tabletop, don't go there! The guy turned away to laugh, out of repect to me, but it was like guy talk that my hubby thought would go over my head, but it didn't.... I nudged him and said SHUT UP and he just laughed like a pig. Then my husband mentioned that we are getting a basketball hoop and we'd have so many kids over between our kids and the step kids and the neighbor kids that we could make a whole basketball team. The guy said that sounds so cool, all you'll need is cheerleaders on the side lines and my sweet hubby moaned and said let's not talk about that now, dude! I felt really dumb and humiliated and told him when we got home and he said I'm just super sensitive. I said I feel like I was the only woman in a locker room and I wish you wouldn't talk that way in front of me. He was mad and psycho. I think he is a pig! 46 years old. more
