hi I watched a film trailer where a supply teacher was sent to work with a child he asked him what he would like to do child replied play basketball cut a long story short supply teacher had a go at him child trashed the room threw a chair out the window another child said you should of let him play basketball!!any ideas on what the film is called? moreResolved Question: At what age should a kid be allowed to get their first pet?
What would you do if your eight year old asks you for their first pet. - He gets good marks in school - He is very kind and affectionate to his friends animals / to the neighborhood strays - Generally, he is mature enough to handle the responsibility(i think?) the question is how would you know if he's responsible without being put in that situation? Gabriel is eight years old, I have allowed him to "have" one pet in the past , which was when he babysat his sister's rabbit when she went to mn with gma, and he was extremely gentle with it, made sure that it had sufficient food&&water supply, etc.etc... but a rabbit is a bit different than a dog. He wants to get an Alaskan Husky, none of the crazy petstore germanlabrapoodledoodlewhatchyamafreakit (no offense to the owners of such dogs), but I am afraid this is going to be too large. i told him it will need grooming, food&&water, bedding,to be pottytrained, etc.etc.. he said he thinks he can provide it. i am often told how "sweet a boy" he is, but i think it just goes along with his cutie pie looks(curly red moptop, big brown eyes, freckles etcetc) he has 3 younger brothers, 2, 4, and 7 who would play with the dog while he's at school and stuff.. he also has 3 older sibs; 10, 14 and 19 who agreed that they would help him out with excersize until he's "big enough" to walk it. i am a stay at home mum, and would be able to provide supervision 80% of the time, unfortunately he would have to be alone some like when the kids are at school, i take my 2&&4 yr olds for a drive and to the park and whatever pops into our heads just to get some fresh air (until they start pre-k so they dont get cabin fever), that takes about 3 hours then i would be back home.. and on the weekends saturday my 7&8 yrs old have football, and 10&14yr olds have basketball, so i go see them.. and sunday church morning&&eve...other than that someone would be home basically all the time(except of course for the unpredictable stuff) we would all have to work together as a family to get him potty trained (we are busy beavers but always pitch together for a pet ;] heh) the dog would either be shelter adopted or byb , and if its a puppy we will get it spayed regardless of gender. if its just a puppy, though, boy we will get him neutered, girl we wont (i may want my kids to have the experience of pups) he hates the thought of disciplining an animal in any way shape or form, which could make it hard to train the puppy. Dad is in Iraq, but he comes home in ten months so when the dog is fully grown he can walk it too. i'm not going to go to big expenses, please :) like hiring a personal trainer. it will get general checkup at the vet every other month, groomed once a month by a groomer otherwise will be brushed daily by the kids. He'll live outside in a large fenced in backyard. A visible fence, not electric. We will potty-train him right away incase we're ever to have to let someone else adopt him(if the kids can't properly care for him and the person who wants him owuld like an indoor dog) he's going to name the dog buddy if it's a boy, cameron(cammy) if its a girl (lol he made me add that) alaskan husky tho...i just don't know. moreResolved Question: who are the top twenty nba players of all time?
please justify your answers,. don't spam and note: i am comparing your answers with my answers and slam magazines 02 opinion, so you should include your comparisons between your thoughts, mine, and slam magazine and again rationalize your answers. this is slam magazines 1.Michael Jordan 2.Wilt Chamberlain 3.Oscar Robertson 4.Bill Russell 5.Magic Johnson 6.Larry Bird 7.Kareem-Abdul Jabbar 8.Jerry West 9.Shaquille O'Neal 10.Julius Erving 11.Elgin Baylor 12. Hakeem Olajuwon 13.Karl Malone 14.Bob Petitt 15.John Havlicek 16.Moses Malone 17.Isiah Thomas 18.John Stockton 19.Charles Barkley 20.Walt Frazier, mine is bill russell, greatest winner ever, defense, team, the only important thing in sports is winning and russel won more than any other. The other celtics didnt make russel, he made them. russels teamates used to psyche out the other team when they were on the brake by yelling i got him in an imitation of russels voice, prompting the opposing players to become so paniced that they missed what were really wide open layups. No other player has inspired such fear. The won person who truly understood russels value was the smartest man ever involved in basketball, red auerbach. He was one of the few who really understood how great russell really was. Russel himself was definately the smartest player in nba history, hahamicheal jordan. And an underrated athlete with great hops and foot speed. He played through injuries, always showed up, and cared more than anyone but perhaps red himself jordan: for the reasons everyone knows, 6rings, great athlete, great scorer, smart, super clutch, super dedicated, a smarter more physically talented more clutch kobe in an era when a kobe/jordan like player had never been seen before. globalized the nba. oscar robertson at 3, a smaller bird with slightly less shooting touch, he is the only person to average a triple double over a season and came close many times. he won a championship and would have won more if he had had more than one good supporsting player. People talk about bringing it all in big games,. because robertsons teams were often so bad he had to bring it every game to win. The greatest all round player in the nba ever. wilt chamberlain at 4. he wasnt higher because he was constantly beat out by russel for championships and much of his succes resulted from a league that allowed him from hsi great stature to simply drop the ball in the basket. Still, he almost always brought it and his statistical accomplishments and sheer presence warrant him a spot at number 4. I tie magic and bird for a 5/6 combo. They were both triple double machines and played with heart and championship, made their teams infinitely better, were ultimate team players who played within a system, and some of the greatest clutch players of all time on some of the best teams of all time. Although magic may have been slightly so skiled they comprised the parthenon of basketball in their eras and any two guys of about 68+ who could between them score 30, post triple doubles, shoot gamewinning threes and hooks, win i htink 8 champs and revolutionize the league belong. Magic was the most confident baller of the glitzy period and bird would have played longer if he wasnt the classic dive to the floor play through injuries by any means necessary ball of toughness. Also, any dude who can one: ask his teamates if they want to win in a clutch game and after recieving a yes, tell them that to do that they have to get out of his expletive way (bird) and then win the game and after being questioned how do you do that, reply, oh that, i do that all the time, and say that truthfully, is one of the greatest players of all time. next on the list are kareem: championships, scoring alltime title, longevity, toughness, and showing up in big games, one of the best skilled big men in nba history, if not the best, jerry west and john hondo havlicek are tied because they both partially embodied clutch, constant effort, go to guy, toughness, and constant offense. Many championships spanning 2 eras. jerry was the only player ever to win a nba finals mvp while playing on the losing team. enough said. havlicek supplied westlike gamewinners, scoring, defense, constant hustle, and the most amazingly athletic and stamina gifted guard of that era. finally, since this has been so long, ill just rank olajuwon last on the high list: multiple time champ, most athletic big ever, and thats not just leaping and speed, thats coordination and grace. Monster scorer and rebounder and defender/shotblocker. if you arent sold on that, go to a video site and watch the complete rockets versus spurs playoff series where the dream matched up against all time great ben robinson. If thats not abuse i dont know what is. what he did to robinson during big bens own mvp year should have been illegal and in this era probably is. actually, ill add tim duncan because of his consistency, skill longevity, and guys, kobe won 3 rings as a supporting player. Its nothing when one team has the two best players in the league and all the best roleplayers. I think that in the end of his career he will probably be like 20 or 15 if he wins a champ or two alone. the truth here is he just isnt great great. He is very smart player, can carry a team, one of the most complete offensive players in recent history, a very good clutch player, and a quality perimeter defender. Still, as youll see, i ussed the adjectives very and good and one of the best. He is not yet worthy of the adjective "great" or greatest" in five years he may be. kobe is better than frazier in individual skill and possibly even as a winner. Lebron is not better than havlicek. He is an athletic freak still developing a skill game. He is a highly overrated defensive player, especially on ball. He is a very good scorer but he is not yet, lethal in clutch, although he is very good. Also his team just blew the eastern conference finals against what is only a pretty good team. It was not hsi fault but he has won nothing. He may end up being thought of as super barkley with no real win related accolades. Hovever in 15 years he may be the greatest of all time. But as of now legacy wise john havlicek makes him look like a clown. Its not really about skill or talent after a certain level. Once u reach htis level, its about rings. by the way the only crime is putting shaq anywhere near top ten. All he did is lower his shoulder and dunk the ball. His succes was the result of physical gifts completely, not skill or dedication ro mindset. Hi is a very good player but top ten, who the heck are we kidding. Thats like saying phil jackson is a better coach than red auerbach. Red Auerbach was a genious, phil is the designated babysitters of grown mens egos. jordan, kobe, and shaq. skk, kobe at 7 is a joke as ive already expressed. also, i dont care for stockton because he didnt win anything. also ranking russel, the greatest WINNER in sports history at 6 or 7 is a crime. whats the most important aspect of sports. winning, whats the goal, winning, who won, by any means necessary. Russel. Also pippen doesnt deserve top 50, maybe top 75, i dont care if he played with and supported micheal. He couldnt be the best player on a champ team. And he could only max 23 and 8. very good player, heavily overrated. I like having drexler, i also like that u moved shaq back, alhtough id probably send him further also, ben robinson is definately a spectacular player, but duncan is in the conversation for best winning pf of all time. Robinson, mr. "the admiral" was great but duncan has surpassed him in legacy. also, i dont think i could ever include mikan, although he was the nba's first great star and first great big man, he was a limited player, he belongs at something like 30. All i know is that if he had russel or wilt or even duncan on him, he would have been ineffective on offense and his only defensive tool was size, although defense wasnt really important in that era, russel really revolutionized the importance of d. He also invented any form of defense that involves leaving your feet, practically inventing the modern shot block and paint contest. At this piont in time players are so lazy they cheat and leave their feet more often than they need to. Im sick of hearing about shaq except maybe on VERY EDGE of 20, overrated waste of talent. Could have been best player ever. Instead he was the best player in a weak league. a very good player, not a great one. when i think of shaq i feel depressed. If he had worked out, worked in the offseason, improved freethrows and mid range jumper, in continuation, shaq could have been the most dominant, multitalented big men ever, maybe best player ever. Instead hes a hasbin who got by on monumental talent. If he learned all the facets of the game, worked, kept in shape, and really wanted to win/wasnt a headcase he could have 30 all star nods, 30 all nba 1st teams, 15+scoring and rebounding titles, league leader in fg % and blocked shots regularly, defensive player of the year at least 3 times, maybe a 8 or 10 time champ. Shaq was constantly put on teams with good surrounding talent. He could have been zues in terms of greek mythology, zues after he vanquished the titans. Instead he was an equisitly gifted water nimph with with anyone else is spectacular succes. With him though, it is mediocre. oh, by the way i forgot kareem. He should be somewhere between 3 and 7. one of the alltime greats. Never gets enough credit. not the greatest player of all time, probably not 3rd, but could be at best a very borderline bias 2, 50/50 3, legit 4, overqualified 5-7. moreResolved Question: NBA party Supplies In NYC!?

Schools should have soda and candy machines available Have you ever wish there was candy machines in your school? I wished we had one in our school. If we had a candy or soda machine at our school, they could make more money and the kids won’t suffer from hunger also if you’re worried about your child’s health you don’t need to worry because we have P.E. classes. Lastly, if your planning to have a candy or soda machine talk about it with the people you know first. One reason that we should get candy or soda machines because most kids don’t eat breakfast and they starve from hunger. If we have candy or soda machines, most kids will have the energy to do sports such as basketball, baseball, and etc. For instance, kids will probably start paying attention in class and stop focusing on their pain of hunger. Finally, the students won’t be experiencing starvation. Schools could make money from selling candy or soda machines. Also they can use the money for school supplies such as pencils, erasers, and etc. For example some kids always come unprepared and they don’t have a pencil or eraser to write. Schools could have more after school activities if we had more money. Schools can raise money by selling candy or soda machines and having more activities to do in their school. But isn’t candy bad for you’re child’s health? That’s where your wrong we have classes to make you child health and it’s called P.E. We have P.E. classes everyday so your child can stay in shape. But if your still concerned about your child’s health you can sign him up for a sport such as football, swimming, and etc. So it’s not that bad to have a candy or soda machine. Candy or soda machines aren’t that if you have them in your school so you don’t have to worry. If your concerned we classes for your children to stay in shape and kids would be more satisfied with new school activities instead of suffering from hunger. Lastly, if your in need of a soda or candy machine talk about it with you principal or someone with the same hierarchy as him. Ive put much work on this please tell me if I am writing a persuasive essay if I am tell me what I can improve on. moreVoting Question: buying brackets for basketball hoop?

Please comment!?
i just got really bored and wrote this! what do u think? I knew being with him would cost, but I had never imagined this. When I moved to Peachtree Georgia I never thought I’d meet him. I’ve always been told to expect the unexpected, but still this was still pretty unexpected. Well lets start from the beginning. I woke up from only a few hours of sleep. I checked the time and rolled back over in bed. How could I possibly drag myself out of bed when I felt like, like this? “Bella! Are you getting up?” I heard my mom, Audrey, yell from downstairs. I groaned. “I told you, if you need one more day to unpack your stuff and get settled you can.” Audrey yelled. “No, I’m going.” I sighed; I guess I should go ahead and get the first day out of the way. I kicked the blankets unto the floor and stumbled out of bed. I stared at myself in the mirror, and sighed again. Maybe today would be ok, not as bad as I had thought. Ah, who was I kidding, I’m a new girl now; no first day is going to be okay. I opened my unpacked suitcase and threw out a pair of jeans, a tee shirt, and my old brown jacket. I don’t like getting dressed up, not for school anyway. I ran downstairs. Grabbed a protein bar, and ran out the door. Gosh, I thought. I really could use a car. It was only the first day but I knew I couldn’t stand walking to school every morning. I was not going to ask Audrey for a car, how ridiculous. As I walking into the big brown door of the school, I had mixed emotions. Part of me was excited to see where I’d be spending the next 3 years of torture at, yet the other half wanted to crawl back in bed. A girl with two long blonde pig tails eyed me down, making me feel very uncomfortable. Wow, this is exactly what I didn’t want to happen. Every girl I saw was wearing a skirt. Couldn’t Audrey have told me about this? She knows I hate dress and skirts. Well, I guess I’d given them something to notice. Witch is a bad thing to me. When I walked into the office I was greeted by a tall stern looking man. “You must be Emma.” He asked. “Yes.” I replied. He handed me a scudule of all my classes. “Thanks.” I said taking it and turning for the door. “Wait.” He yelled after me. I turned around. “Let me give you a little world of advice, you don’t want to get in trouble around here. Do your best not to get involved with certain people.” He said, leaning his head toward the desk, where a mysterious looking guy stood. I just nodded, “That’s all.” He said. I tried to make sense of his words. The guy he didn’t want me to be around was the one I felt like I needed to be around. I slowly walked to my first class- gym. Great. My worst class is my homeroom. The gym was big and full of people. I made my way threw the crowd and sat down on the bleachers. I could feel all the attention I was drawing in. I hated it. Just as I was about to get up a friendly looking guy walked toward me. “You must be new?” He asked. “Yea.” I said. “I’m Matthew. And you are?” He asked. “Isabella. Well, Bella.” I asked. “Hm. You any good at basketball?” Matt asked. Shew, He had more questions than I had answers. “I’m not sure.” I said with a slight chuckle. “Right.” He said and walked off. Wow. Great way to end a convosation Bella. I wanted to kick myself. My day went by slowly. It was only 12:00. Lunch was in 10 minutes and I had no idea where I was going to sit. Only 2 people had spoken to me so far. Matthew and a girl named Amy. She was nice. I hated to invite myself to tables. I had made up my mind; I would simply sit at the nearest empty table! Alone. I walked into the cafeteria. Hoping to see a empty table. Lucky me there was one. I quickly sat down and bit into my apple. When something caught the corner of my eye, him. The guy at the desk this morning. The one Mr. Burkes told me to stay away from. My heart started pounding out of my chest. He was not about to sit at my table was he? He did. I didn’t look him in the face, or at all. I just looked down at the floor. “Are you going to say something?” He asked. I didn’t know what to say, so I said something I bitterly regret. “Are you?” As soon as it escaped my lips I realized I had supplied another question- not an answer. oh and remember im only 12. lol moreResolved Question: English Help!!!!!!!!?

And not the product itself? Let's examine education from a scientific and economic point of view. Why do all of the plans focus on product delivery? "It's the teachers. They're not committed like in the old days." Or "It's the local school officials. They don't know how to manage." Or "Parents don't take responsibility." Much of that is true, but is it the cause of current problems? People end up attacking the labor unions of people who do the equivalent of board-of-directors-level corporate work but in a public system, for salaries comparable to the employees at Home Depo. Why the focus on product delivery and NEVER the product? The current testing mania has gotten to the point where in some places legally-required tests and courses take the majority of local school budgets. Every dime of that goes to big companies like McGraw and Kaplan, not for teachers and supplies. And the tests don't serve as a sample to measure what and how well kids have learned if the system has teachers "teaching to the test." The tests don't actually measure the kids' education. They measure how far schools have changed things to match our system of measure. And for every low grade, a megacorp gets another multi-billion$ contract to snatch more school money, money that won't go to the schools that got the low grades. Meanwhile, curriculum has deteriorated. School security is either treated like riot police duty, or police states in miniature. And sometimes (at the same time!) important security threats are ignored entirely. I personally know a public school teacher who has gotten to the point where he picks students he think can make it and meets with them privately. "The stuff I have to put in my courses may help them pass tests, but it's useless in learning how to write college papers, or read anything more complicated than a gossip website. If I don't help them, they won't make it." He buys supplies to use for these private tutoring sessions out of his own pocket. He has been teaching for twenty-one years. He makes approximately $33,000 a year. In some places a first-year prison guard makes more than that. In my job, I am involved in education in a non-school bureaucratic setting. I know my boss would crumple up the average American high school curriculum into a ball and throw it in his little basketball wastebasket. Then he'd drop the idea of contractors and go talk to our in-house staff and see what they could come up with. Our kids don't know math. Our kids not only don't speak French or Spanish - they usually (native-born too!) don't really speak English either. They think an engineer has something to do with driving a car and that Franz Josef is the name of that German kid being scouted by the NBA. So my question is, with all the suggestions on how to address the crisis in American education, why the focus on the delivery of the product and not the quality of the product? The product stinks. Why are we ignoring that? . moreResolved Question: What do you think my dream means?
My fiance Tyler, Jacob, Ben, Karis, a bunch of random kids, and I were out on a soccer field. At the end of the field, there was a shed full of sporting equitment. In the middle of the field there was a soccer goal turned around backwards, so that the back of the goal was facing the shed. Tyler, the kids, and I had dodge balls, which we were storing a supply of in the net of the goal. Lurking around the shed was this big man, who was wearing a disguise and was obviously up to no good.We were trying to get rid of the bad man by throwing the dodge balls at him, but it was having no effect on him. Tyler said that he had a Biology quiz that he had to take, so he left and said he would be back ASAP. After a few more minutes of failing to budge the man, we retreated to another, bigger shed off of the other side of the field. In this shed, we found baseball bats and tons of basketballs ( which we thought would hurt the man more if we hit him with them). While we were collecting our things, the man surprised us by jumping in front of the open shed door, which was facing away from the field. We fled out a secret back door and ran down the field. Before I made it down the field, the man caught up with me and started talking to me about the flaws in my fighting strategy and telling me what I could have done better. Suddenly, I realized who he was. He was my father-in-law (to be), so I gave him a big hug, because I realized we weren't really in horrible danger. That's when I woke up. moreResolved Question: Osteochondritis dissecans question?

It has practically encouraged generations of Americans to get rich at all costs. It has led to a sense of entitlement from many Americans, that they have a right to live like kings. A manager I used to work for probably worked for $35,000 a year at this restaurant. However, because he wanted to impress his wife so much, he started eating out at Outback and Red Lobster every day, buying food for himself and his kids. His finances started getting tight, but he couldn't stop living his lifestyle. He had to sit in the lower level of basketball games all the time. He told me he was underpaid all the time, but he's run his business down so much, stealing and cutting back on labor and supplies to such ridiculous levels. The owner of the business will probably find out soon, but I don't care, I left a long time ago, but as a fellow manager, I had a lot invested in there as a person. I imagine my former manager's story emulates many stories from Wall Street and major corporations. Forbes should do the right thing and let the list fade away. It's inappropriate in these times, and it's arguably even a CAUSE of the problem. What do you think? Typical Americans, can't understand the moral of any story. moreResolved Question: Are these people pretty rich?

But we are the ones who supply the owners and players with the constant flow of money and without us they have nothing. moreResolved Question: DO i seem like a nice person?

I was watching a basketball game the other night on a New York sports channel (I'm an evil, successful person who shells out $100 per month for satellite TV), and a commercial comes on with Joe Kennedy whining about space heaters and saying he, yes he, can "get you some oil" supplied by Hugo Chavez, to whom he lovingly blows a kiss. Can't Joe Kennedy see when he's being played for a fool, does he just not care, or is he explicitly admitting that he's a socialist? moreResolved Question: since i got no response, i'm reposting this. please anyone, just read this and tell me what you think?
hey. this is the first time i'm writing something and i have a plot in mind. please tell me what you think? there are 2 guys, both arch rivals in college. one is the head of a studious yet cool gang, the other the head of a violent, non-serious, hip, gang. both however love basketball and are on the college team. however, their rivalry costs them matches more than once. both are after the same girl, who flirts with both equally, though more with studious guy. both have common fights and hate each other, then the studious guy has accident and is shattered. he loses his beauty, gets a limp which results in plummeting grades, loss of team position and consequent loss of confidence. he becomes dependant on friends so much so that he needs an escort everywhere and is frightened if stared at. the other guy notices this and feels a wee bit of pity for him. verrrrry reluctantly, sometimes without realising it, he begins to help him in small ways but takes care that no one notices. the shattered guy is slowly forsaken by his gang and this breaks him further. he stops speaking. the other guy goes on helping. slowly, the other guy realises that he is not he only secret helper. a girl, obviously interested in the shattered guy, is also helping secretly. this helper guy slowly begins to change. also, the girl who they were after now pays attention to this other guy only and gets rude with the shattered guy. this touches the ither guy and he decides that this girl is not the best person for her after all. the other guy then slowly but surely begins to change. this ios not liked by his gang. then once they catch him helping the shattered guy red handed. this guy then leaves his gang and openly starts helping that guy. even the hidden girl comes out. however, they are still far from being friends. slowly, both begin to realise what big headed jerks they've been all their lives. they slowly come closer. the shattered guy, is helped by another girl as well who later on is realised to have an interest in the helper guy apart from feeling pity for the shattered guy. the helper guy understands her affection, but doesnt know how to respond. both guys come closer to each other though dont express. they have probems at home as well, and somehow find out about each other and help out each other. through this, all 4 realise each others worth and this gives rise to a "true" love instead of a common college affairs. they also realise the importance and love of their families through the sacrifices they see that are given for them. then later a few members of the studious gang and all the hip gang join in a "business". they sell drugs and supply girls in the college premises. those who refuse, they either pressurise or they blackmail. the girl they both were after is also a part of all this. they fight against them and win. this creates real friendship between them. later, in the future, those members of the studious gang who didnt join the drug sellers just because it was illegal, not bcz it was immoral, have good careers, but are alone. one commits suicide, another dies of dissipation due to depression and yet another seems to have no purpose in life inspite of a 6 figure salary. the drug sellers get into even more trouble. so, that's it. what say? guys there's no need to be rude. if you don't like it, just say so. suggest anything or point out why you dont like it. why be rude? thanks to those who like it. thank you wesley. atleast you know what you're saying. moreResolved Question: How to deal with a lazy selfish roommate?
I have 3 other roommates and me all get along pretty decently, but there is one guy who doesn't EVER help out.. He never cleans, he doesn't ever buy or help buy shared items like cleaning supplies or toilet paper. I have supplied a very nice TV and my PS3 to the room to play. He had his 360 up here for all of us to share like my PS3 and TV, but shortly after I moved my PS3 into my own room because no one but me was using it, and I got a new game I wanted to play when I wanted, he took his 360 home and hasn't brought it back. Now every night I'll move my PS3 into my room so I can play it while the others watch TV or whatnot. The next day here he is coming to me asking to move my PS3 into the living room so that he and his buddy can play basketball. I'm normally not playing during the day so I don't care.. Just recently he seems to be paying non stop all day and really gets mad when I ask him to get off so I can play. I just don't know what to do anymore... I want him to help clean, to bring his 360 back up so he has something to play, or to just help pitch in on the cleaning supplies for once. Nothing ever works and he just continues to sit there. To make things worse me and another roommate went out looking for a new apartment for next semester and he found out and is planning to move into it with us due to the last guy telling him we still need a fourth guy... Any help on the situation would help out greatly!! Thanks. moreResolved Question: Looking for an educated, talanted, and charismatic guy to act, host, model or do voiceovers? I'm available :)?
Hello out there good people! I'm posting this on a "universal basis" for anyone of your producers out there who might be looking for some "fresh and naturally charismatic" talent out there, to play in one of your movies, narrate a script, model some of your casual designs, or be a most excellent voice sample for your promotions. I've been in the business world and I'm starting to get kinda of tired of just working.... I believe it's time move on and use these skills along with some of my natural abilities to go to the next level. I'd make a great character in the various roles of a lawyer, soldier, business-minded and educated street character (very smooth & polished), executive, family member, boxer, or basketball player... (I'm actually pretty good for 5'9".... if you don't believe me, and have the connections, fly me out to one of NBA camps for a session and watch me go. I'm a two-guard). In 1997, I played on the snareline at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama, so if you're about Drumline 2, I could be the guy... I've the got the tapes of our games at the Classics. Moreover, if you're something like the Phil Jackson of producing/directing, I'm a very coachable person, so you can "mold me" into something great. I reside in the great city of Cincinnati, and I also have both a Myspace, and BlackPlanet profile, with pictures you can view. If you need to hear my voice you can supply me with a number to briefly respond to, or I can upload the Myspace add-on for the voice recorder, and you can use that. I'm very confident, and also quite a gentleman, who likes to handle business and see success. If you're as serious about finding entertainment talent as I am about making it, then this is/was intended for you. Type in DesignerMind on both Myspace(www.myspace.com/designermind) and BlackPlanet (www.blackplanet.com/DesignerMind), and check me out. I honestly believe to be the best, you've got to be willing to put in the hard work that it so demands, and hard work along constantly improvement, and redesigning oneself, is what I'm about. Also, I've got a heck of a story to tell due to my many life experiences, so I'm pretty well rounded. So having said thus, it is my hope that I'll receive some positive, serious replies. Also, those who wish to "add me" on the respective sites, please free to leave me a note or an add... :) Thanks, and I look forward to meeting with you or hearing back from you. Hi, I am a high school student and I was wondering if any of you could help me in perfecting my resume or provide me with any advice to get into college. With that being said …. I go to school at University High School in Irvine California, one of the top-ranked public high schools in California. Aside from being academically vigorous and challenging, it is also home of possibly 2000 Asian Americans. All of whom possess similar characteristics; musical instrument, solid grades, good SAT /AP scores, athletic sort(s), and community service hours here and there. I was wondering if you had an advice on how I would be able to stand out amongst thousands of clones. Now a little about myself. I am Taiwanese, as well as 1/16th Hispanic. Weird, yes, i know. To be honest, I am nothing close to a stellar student. I have poor grades, a 3.49 weighted GPA through my freshman and sophomore years. This year, my junior year, I am currently juggling a 4.0 weighted GPA. Last year, I took the AP Exam for US History and received a 5, but scored a low 680 on my SAT2s. I’ve taken the SAT2 for Chinese and Math Level 2, and received 800s on both. I’ve also scored a 2300 on my SAT 1. However, in my first semester of sophomore year I received 2 C’s (one in APUSH and another in Algebra 2). I managed to raise my APUSH grade to an A- the following semester, and my math grade to a B. Here are some of the school activities that I am involved in. I have been part of Student Council for 3 years. I am the Club President of Fiddle For Fun. Fiddle For Fun is an organization that I started this year that provides free tutoring opportunities at local elementary schools. It also helps fund raise with the principals of these schools in raising money to buy school supplies. (I’ve organized a jog-a-thon, a mini marathon where students gather pledges on the # of laps they run and all donations benefit the school). I am also the a board member of Model United Nations, Mock Trial, as well as the VP of Kiwins and Save Darfur! I’ve been part of the school orchestra since freshman year, and played basketball and wrestling for the school team. I am also a writer for our school newspaper and magazine. Here are some of things I participate outside of school. As I stated above, I am part of the school orchestra. I play the viola. Since freshman year, I have participated in the All-State Orchestra, All-Southern Orchestra, as well as the All-National Orchestra. This summer I had the amazing opportunity of being invited by IYCA (a local orchestra) to play in the Summer Beijing Olympics. I toured Seoul, Korea as well as Beijing, China playing my viola at various locations, including the Great Wall of China and at the Opening Ceremony. The summer of my freshman year, I spent a few weeks in Taiwan teaching English to its native speakers. I traveled to Mexico as well as Ecuador to help build homes either as part of missions or leadership programs. I will be going to India this winter break for a week apart of IYCA to spread musical awareness to the less fortunate and teach natives the basic fundamentals in learning how to read as well play a musical instrument. Along with IYCA, I have helped raised thousands of dollars to purchase violins that will be given to natives in India who possess a keen interest in learning the art of music. I also published 2 short children books, in Mandarin and English. I am a member of T.I.P, an organization that provides emotional support to victims who have experienced a life changing tragedy, such as a car crash. I’ve interned for a district attorney, and am currently interning at a sports agency company. Lastly, I attend church every week, and am part of my church choir as well as its monthly visits to a nursery home. That being said, I need your help. I am not in my top percent of my class, and do not have impressive grades. I would like to pursue a career in business management. I want to be able to go to a top-notch school, such as UPENN even if its just for undergrad. It would be nice to make my parents proud. If you had any advice, please, please let me know! Thank you! moreResolved Question: Kid gets bullied. Am I doing the right thing?
I'm not going to mention any names just incase, its the internet, anyone can read this. Well I'm in grade 9 (first year of highschool) in Canada, and in my gym class this smaller kid, really small, is made fun of allllll the time. I mean ALLL the time. He is harrassed by every kid in gym and in school. For gym class we have two peer students who are in grade 11 who help our gym teacher to get one of their credits. Even one of the peer students, makes fun of this kid, and hes the peer student, supposed to be the older, more MATURE person. Today are gym teacher was absent so we had a supply gym teacher. we were playing basketball and a mean kid (who is a real di<ck and has even tried to fight me before) tried to grab the ball out of the small kids hand and actually picked up the kid with the ball and then threw the kid on the ground pretty much. The kid was crying and got up and was trying to punch him and he was screaming. Some other kids did not even try to break up the fight because they wanted to see the small kid get beat up. What's worse is, the supply teacher left the room for two minutes while this is all happening, that bully is such a retarded sneak! My friend managed to break up the fight and hold the smaller kid back and my other friend managed to hold the bully back. The point is, everyone makes fun of this and no one gives a damn about him. I really want to do something... I just don't want to get made fun of myself for the rest of my highschool career, I already have enough problems myself. But I still feel very bad about it, and I even cried when I got home for a while, it was just so sad. I'm deciding to go tell a vice principal tomorrow about what goes on, I'm pretty sure they well know (him and the bully were both sent down to the principal after it happened), but they shoudl know a couple things: - Who the main bullies are - Especially the peer student. He is an obnoxious pri<ck. He is 16 years old and supposed to have grown some balls the last couple of years and be more mature, not to pick on a x3 smaller grade 9, what a pu_ssy! I have already stood up for this kid once, I'm 6'0 feet tall so I can sometimes show some refugee for the kid, but I can't stand up against 20 grade 9 students alone. None of my friends are willing to help, they feel bad like I do but don't want to get hurt or bullied themselves for doing something. I want to know, am I doing the right thing? I just don't want to hear a suicide tomorrow night on the news..this kid is verbally and emotionally bullied everyday of his life, and today, almost physically bullied. Anyone else have any stories.. my paren'ts already know about this, and they are very proud how empathetic I am. I just don't understand how kids can be so cruel..I thought when you hit high school kids are more nice then in middle school, cause they've grown up and grown some balls over the summer... moreResolved Question: The accounting cycle?
